Many UK Hotels and Guest Houses provide pay phones for the convenience of their guests and are losing income through the growing use of pre-paid phonecards on the premises, other than those provided by BT. Where pay phones have previously been installed, less money is being collected and many pay phones are no longer cost effective. The Phone Plan has been installed at several UK Establishments and has proved to be extremely popular and cost effective. With this service we simply install one or more telephone handsets on existing lines where possible, which may replace some or all of the existing payphones. These telephones link directly to our exchange and do not allow any outgoing calls without the user entering a suitable account number or PIN. Guests may purchase customised phonecards from the establishment's shop, reception area or office, and are then able to make low cost calls to the value of that card. UK Hotels and Guest Houses no longer face an increasing liability on the rental of telephone equipment. Some pay phones may be left in situ to allow calls with cash, and can be altered to prevent unauthorised use by other pre-paid cardholders.
